You Gotta Know When to Splurge

Thursday, 15 July 2010 22:43 by Jacki

According to www.wiktionary.com, to splurge means:

1. To spend lavishly or extravagantly, especially money.

I am pretty good about saving money and living within my means, so every once in a while, I splurge on something expensive.  Just recently I purchased a netbook.  My next splurge will be on a new HTC Evo 4G smartphone but not until my wireless phone contract is up so I can get a discount.

Some people I know complain about their finances but buy what I would consider splurge items all of the time.  When managing your money, the best thing to do is keep a “need” and a “want” list.  My motto is to only buy “want” items with cash and not with credit.

What is on your “want” list right now?
