Grand Prize winners Morany and Kay Deamus won a $2,500 Weekly 5 Club Account.  FORUM’s Weekly 5 Club is a savings account that gives members a chance to win prizes each week, month, quarter, and year by making regular deposits to their savings.  When asked what they would do with the $2,500, Mr. Deamus said they would put it toward their grandkids. The Deamus’ said their favorite part of the challenge was paying off two credit cards. “It showed us we could really do this, and it was good to see something getting paid off.”  Discussing whether they would recommend the Challenge to others, they stated, “Oh yeah!  It would benefit others once they know what it is.  You can meet FORUM employees, and they encourage you.  It’s good for young and old people.”

The SaveItUp Challenge second place prize of a $1,500 Weekly 5 Club Account went to Mary Robison.  Ms. Robison described her reaction to winning as, “I was thrilled.  It was money I didn’t expect to get and was grateful to have.”  When asked what SaveItUp Challenge prizes she would like to see in the future, she responded, “If you have a loan, maybe win $5,000 toward the debt.”

Tonii Martin, the third place prize winner for the SaveItUp Challenge, described what she would do with her $1,000 Weekly 5 Club prize.  “I was saving up to get my son a computer.  We’re also going to purchase toys to take to a shelter.”  Martin also noted, “A lot of people don’t save, and you never know what’s going to happen, so you need to have something set aside.”

FORUM will be offering a revamped version of the SaveItUp Challenge in 2010 as well. Those who participated in the 2009 Challenge will also be eligible to participate in the 2010 Challenge.
